The Dartmouth Police Athletic League makes delivery of turkeys to the American Red Cross in time for Thanksgiving.
This year's donation surpasses previous years with the delivery of some 90 turkeys to the American Red Cross food pantry located at 995 Rockdale Avenue in New Bedford, MA.
With the help of the Stackhouse Club located on Faith Street and Shaw's market in Dartmouth, the DPAL has been able to forge a partnership with these organizations to serve the community.
The day began with loading of the turkeys by DPAL members Ken Cotta, Rich Medeiros, Joe Vieira, Paul Medeiros, Wally Garcia and John Paul Costa.
As we pulled into the Red Cross location we were met by Red Cross Program Coordinator, Seth A. Bastone and his staff who were very grateful for the donation. Seth cited a huge demand for food assistance this year.
